Audrey Leonard Has Gone Home
My stepmother passed away last night and while I am grieved that I will not be able to see or talk to her again in this life, I rejoice in the fact that she has gone home. Audrey is now in the presence of Him whom her soul loved and in whom she had put her trust. She was confident that He who had begun the good work in her would continue it until the day of Jesus Christ. Audrey knew whom she had believed and was persuaded that He is able to keep that which she had committed unto Him against that day. That day came last night at 10pm. The family grieves and will do so because of our loss. But according to Revelation 21:4 we read; “and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”
I praise God that I was able to get to know her, spend time with her and learn from her. Her trust in God was an inspiration to us who knew her and her faith was not in vain. Indeed she has been reunited with my dad in heaven and together they will praise God for all eternity. I close with the words of 1Thessalonians 4:13-18 where we read; 13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. 15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.
